RECENT CHANGES:

· Lane shifts and barrier wall placement:  This will facilitate the construction of new lanes and center divider wall, as well as the new overpasses at Aviation Avenue and Remount Road.

· Overpass work moving forward:  Work is now underway on concrete paving on the new travel lanes of I-26 and Remount Road, as well as exit and entrance ramps at the Remount Road interchange.

· One lane on Aviation Avenue:  Traffic on Aviation Avenue headed away from the airport & Air Force Base will only have one lane at the I-26 overpass.  This is to make way for the first phase of the construction of the new Aviation Avenue overpass.

· Fain Boulevard:  Work is continuing on the new retaining wall along I-26 Eastbound, watch for one-way traffic during daytime hours.

TRAFFIC ADVISORIES:

  • I-26 night-time lane closures:  Night-time lane closures will be taking place most nights, weather conditions permitting.  Drivers can be expect lanes to be closed on both directions of I-26 at various locations and times for concrete paving work.  Speed limits of 45 will be strictly enforced during these times.
     

  • Remount Road is closed between Core Road and Air Park Road for construction of the new roadway and interchange.
     

  • Periodic lane closures and new traffic patterns on Aviation Avenue for  realignment of roadway as the work on the new overpass begins.
