In the early stages of work on this project, during July and August of 2008, much of the work has focused on building the new Remount Road interchange.

Demolition of old houses along Boland Circle will prepare for work to begin on the extended I-26 off-ramp onto Remount Road:

To help increase the ability of embankments to hold their shape and resist vibration during earthquakes, underground stone columns are being placed along the path of the embankments being built for the new Remount Road overpass.

Work is proceeding on the new route of Remount Road on the Eastbound side of I-26.
