We're working to make it even BETTER!

There are few open fields in South Carolina that have been a part of the lives of so many South Carolinians as the parking area of the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. Generations have come here for the annual South Carolina State Fair, to tailgate for South Carolina Gamecocks football games or many other events held at the S.C. State Fairgrounds.

Thanks to the ongoing work taking place in the Fairgounds parking area, those going to the State Fair, as well as Gamecocks tailgaters, can look forward to drier parking and socializing while attending these events, making those events even more memorable and enjoyable.

Part of this project includes the installation of a storm drainage system which allows storm water runoff to filter into the soil on-site, instead of running off elsewhere, potentially compounding flooding problems which have long plauged this part of the Columbia area. This is the largest application of this innovative storm water drainage technology to date in South Carolina.
