The Piney Grove Road bridge replacement project will
focus on the replacement of the existing bridge over
Kinley Creek, which was built in 1957. As shown in the
photos below, this bridge is in dire need of replacement.
The temporary repairs shown in many
of the pictures were in place before the beginning of
construction and are more than adequate to keep the
existing bridge operational until a temporary bridge
can be constructed, which will carry traffic until the
new bridge is completed.
Conditions permitting, this project is expected to
be completed in mid-2009.
U.S. Group, Inc., SCDOT, and local
law enforcement will be working together to ensure
all traffic laws, including posted speed limits, are
obeyed. Please drive carefully through this and any
other highway work zones.
